How to search for trees and shrubs
Search Tips
Often the quickest and best way to search for a plant you need to check on is by
using the 'keyword search box' if you know only the genus or only the specific name
or only the common name try searching that way first.
Another simple way to start is to look over
the Leaf index and try one of the leaf
shapes. If this still does not help try accessing the advanced key and filling out
as many of the data boxes as you can.
The Trees and Shrubs
The Trees and Shrubs gives access to the whole alphabetical list. Plants are listed
by their specific botanical name, their genus name and also by their common name or
names.
Leaf Index
We have picked out some of the basic leaf shapes of both Trees and Shrubs to give you
a quick access to some of the most important groups. Check through all the seven
pages of the Leaf index to get an idea of how it works. It fun to see the whole range
of leaf shapes from the tree and shrub kingdom.
Advanced Key
Entering the site via the Advanced Key will give you access to the complete database
so you will be able to search by any combination of the factors we have used in
entering our plants. You will be able to search deciduous, yellow leaves, scented
flowers etc., etc.
