Halimium atriplicifolium (Lam.) Spach
Native of S. & C. Spain, in open pine forest and on mountain rocks at up to 1000 m, flowering in April and May. The largest Halimium, up to 1.5 m, with ball inflorescence covered in reddish-purple glandular hairs. Leaves silvery 1-4 cm long. Sepals 3; flowers 4-5 cm across, usually spotted at the base. Full sun and well-drained soil. Hardy to -10°C.
