Halesia moncicola (Rehd.) Sarg., family Styracaceae Mountain Snowdrop Tree or Silver Bell Native to southeastern United States, grown as an ornamental in eastern states and in Europe, as it grows quickly and flowers profusely when still rather young. Height to 25-30m (80-100ft) in the wild. Flowers open in May as the leaves emerge, each about 2.5cm (1in) long. Fruit are about 3.7-5cm (1½-2in) long. Leaves are downy when they first appear.
