Hamamelis mollis 'Brevipetala' A strong-growing upright clone, probably of H. mollis, with well- scented, deep yellow but rather short petals. One of the easiest to grow, but least attractive of the witch hazels. Introduced by Chenault of Orleans in around 1935. Branches often produce deformed leaves, possibly the result of virus infection.
