Hamamelis x intermedia ‘Arnold Promise’ HYBRID WITCH HAZEL Grows to 20ft (6m) tall and wide. Strongly scented flowers about 1in (2.5cm) wide appear in winter on leafless branches. Leaves usually turn to shades of red, orange and yellow in autumn. Should be planted in the autumn or early spring in acid or neutral soil in full sun or light shade. Hardy to -20°F (-29°C), US zones 5–9. Hybrid witch hazels are the result of crossing Japanese and Chinese varieties.
