Kalanchoe thyrsiflora
This succulent perennial has flat, red-edged, green leaves, 7.5cm (3in) across, and spikes of white tubular flowers, to 1cm (3⁄8in) long, in spring. It is wild in South Africa, from Eastern Cape to Natal and Transvaal.
Cultivation Easily grown in dry soil. Give some water in summer.
Height to 60cm (2ft); spread to 30cm (1ft). USZ 10–11, surviving -1°C (30°F) of overnight frost. Tolerant of summer drought.
