Kalanchoe schimperana A. Rich. A leafy subshrubby succulent, with thin fleshy leaves and large white flowers, native of Ethiopia, in the Adowa district and in the Galla Highlands, and the Yemen, growing in rocky places, flowering in early spring. Shrub to 60cm. Leaves in two ranks, green, crenate. Flowers 7.5-9cm long, with a long green tube and white lobes. This beautiful species, which is not commonly cultivated, was photographed at the Royal Botanic Garden, Kew.
