Malus floribunda Sieb. ex Van Houtte Japanese Crab
A Japanese tree, probably a hybrid rather than wild, now widely planted in Europe in gardens, parks and streets, as it flowers profusely every year. Height to about 6-9m (20-30ft). Flowers open in late April and early May, each about 2.5-3cm (1-1¼in) wide in clusters of 4-7. Fruits are about 2cm (¾in) in diameter, ripening yellow in October. Z4.
