Phyllocladus trichomanoides D. Don (Podocarpaceae) Tanekaha A graceful evergreen tree, native of both islands of New Zealand where it grows from sea level to 800m. To 20m or so in the wild, with whorled branchlets. Leaves (known as phylloclades) dark green, shallowly lobed at top, in opposite rows on short branchlets to 12cm long, giving the general effect of a maidenhair fern frond. Min. -5°C.
