Paeonia lutea Franch. (Paeoniaceae)
Native of Yunnan, especially in the mountains above Dali, flowering in May. Low deciduous shrub to 1 m. Flowers 5-10 cm across, often yellow and red in the wild. Well-drained, good soil; warm position. Hardy to -15°C. Late spring - early summer.
