Rubus spectabilis Pursh (Rosaceae) Salmon Berry Native of N.W. California north to Alaska, in damp woods and Redwood forest, flowering in March-June. Deciduous shrub with upright, branching canes to 4 m. Leaves with 3 leaflets, the middle 4-10 cm long. Flowers 1-4, 1.5-2 cm long. Fruit red, orange or yellow. Moist soil; part shade. Hardy to -25°C. Summer. The double-flowered form is growing in the garden at Crathes Castle, Aberdeenshire.
