Vaccinium corymbosum L. (Ericaceae) High-bush Blueberry, Blueberry, American Blueberry or Swamp Blueberry.
Native of Nova Scotia and Quebec west to Wisconsin and Alabama, south to Florida, in swamps, wet meadows, pine barrens and mountain woods, flowering in May-June, fruiting June-August. Deciduous shrub to 4.5 m. Fruit deep blue with a greyish bloom. Acid soil; sun or part shade. Hardy to -25°C. Late spring.
