Araujia sericofera Brot. (Asclepiadaceae) Cruel Plant A twining woody climber with softly hairy stalked leaves and loose cymes of whitish flowers which trap the tongues of moths, native of Brazil and Peru, flowering in late summer. Climber to 10m. Leaves opposite, tapering from the base, 5–10cm long. Flowers scented, with 5 leafy calyx lobes and 5 corolla lobes on a short tube, 2.5cm across. Easily grown in a frost-free area. Min. 0°C. Naturalised in N Australia. |
