Acacia verticillata (L’Herit.) Willd. Prickly Moses An upright or spreading, bristly shrub with whorls of 6 short stiff leaves (phyllodes) and ovoid or rod-like flower heads, native of New South Wales, South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania, flowering in June-December(winter to spring). A tall open shrub to 6m; leaves 1-2cm, with a sharp point. Pods 2-8cm, narrow, slightly constricted between the seeds. Needs well-drained moist soil, and some shade, but is otherwise tolerant. Will grow from cuttings. The roots smell of garlic. Min. -5°C. Z8.
