Acacia longifolia (Andr.) Willd. Sydney Golden Wattle or Sallow Wattle A spreading shrub or small tree, with narrow flat leaves (phyllodes) and narrow elongated flower heads, native of New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, flowering in July-October. A fast growing, very variable tree to 10m; leaves 7-15 x 1-2.5cm, flat, narrowly elliptical, straight or slightly curved. Flowers bright-yellow in rods 2-6cm long. Pods 3-12cm, narrowly cylindrical, straight. Easily grown in well-drained soil. Min. -5°C. Z8. |
