Acacia karroo Hayne A spreading thorny tree with bipinnate leaves and globose heads of flowers, native of Africa, in the Cape from Worcester eastwards and north to the tropics, growing on dry hills flowering in summer. Tree to 22m; leaves with 2-6 pairs of pinnae. Flower heads 5mm across, in open clusters of 5-8. Pods curved, constricted between the seeds. For dry, poor soils. Min. -5°C. Z8.
