Acacia fimbriata
Brisbane Wattle, Fringed Wattle
This small evergreen tree or bushy shrub, native to eastern Australia, often has low drooping branches. The dark green leaves are narrowly oblong. The fluffy, globose, golden-yellow, slightly scented flowerheads appear in late winter and spring.
Cultivation Tolerates most soils as long as they are well drained, and is happy in sun or partial shade. Can be clipped to make a good hedge.
Height to 6m (20ft); spread to 5m (16ft) if left to develop as a tree. USZ 9–11, surviving -3°C (27°F) of frost. Tolerant of summer drought. Z9.
