Acacia calamifolia Sweet ex Lindl. (Leguminosae) Broom Wattle or Wallowa An upright or spreading shrub with long slender flat leaves (phyllodes), and 1 or 2 globular flower heads in the leaf axil, native of New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, flowering in July-November. Shrub to 5m; leaves 5-20 x o.2cm, flat, ending in a curved point. Pods 12-20cm, narrow, straight or curved, slightly constricted between the seeds. For well-drained soil, but stands drought and wet. Lime-tolerant. Min. -3°C. Z9. |
