Acacia baileyana F. Mueller (Leguminosae) Cootamundra Wattle, Bailey Acacia or Golden Wattle
Native of New South Wales, in the area around Cootamundra, but widely cultivated, flowering in July-September. Evergreen shrub or small tree to 10 m, flowering from January to February, in the northern hemisphere. There are also golden- and purple-leaved forms. Said in the Western Garden Book to be as hardy as A. dealbata. Well-drained soil; but intolerant of drought; full sun. Hardy to -10°C. Z8.
