Anisodontea x hypomandarum (Sprague) Bates (Malvaceae) An upright shrub with small 3-lobed leaves and small pinkish flowers, of uncertain parentage (possibly A. capensis x A. scabrosa). Stems to 3m; leaves to 3.5cm, 3-lobed; flowers pinkish purple, veined at the base, about 3cm across. The genus Anisodontea is confined to southern Africa, with about 20 species in the Cape, and north to Namibia and Lesotho. A. capensis (L.) Bates has smaller leaves, to 2.5cm long, and magenta flowers.
