Anemopaegma chamberlaynii (Sims) Bur. & Schum. (Bignoniaceae) A slender climber with a pair of thin leaflets, a long trifid tendril and clusters of primrose-yellow flowers, native of Brazil, growing in open forest, flowering sporadically, but mainly in late summer. Climber to 6m or more, flowering best on hanging branches. Leaflets 5–14cm. Flowers 6.3cm long, 3.8cm across. Capsules oblong to orbicular. Min. 0°C. In the paler flowered A. chrysoleucum (H. B. & K.) Sandwith, from Trinidad to Brazil and Peru, the flowers are larger and scented of roses. |
