Anagyris foetida L. (Leguminosae) An upright shrub with large dull yellow flowers, native of the Mediterranean region from N. Africa and Spain to N. Iraq and Arabia, growing on rocky slopes in scrub near the sea and in woods, at up to 1000m in Turkey, flowering in March-May. Plant strong-smelling. Leaves with 3 leaflets. Flowers 20-25mm long, the standard blotched with black. Drought tolerant, for well-drained soil. Min -5°C. |
