Abutilon x suntense C. Brickell (Malvaceae) A tall shrub with loose bunches of open flowers, usually bright mauve, but often white as shown here. Stems to 5m; flowers 5-6cm across, produced mainly in spring. A cross between two species from Chile, A. vitifolium and the smaller, hardier and darker-flowered A. ochsenii. It was first raised in 1969 and comes true from seed. Z8.
