Abies delavayi var. georgii (Orr) Melville Flowers open in late April. The dark purple cones are about 6-10cm (2¼-4in) long, with distinctively long bracts. Leaves are notched, with two white bands underneath and usually bluish in first year. Z7.

Native to western China, and rare in cultivation. Flowers and cones are similar to those shown for var. georgii but the deep purple cones have smaller spine-like bracts showing. Foliage is also similar with leaves bluntly rounded and usually notched.
