Agapetes incurvata (Griffith) Sleumer var. incurvata An erect shrub with narrow leaves and tubular white or pink, purple-barred flowers, native of Assam to Bhutan, growing as an epiphyte at 2100–1900m, flowering in June–July. Shrub to 1m high; young stems with short white hairs; leaves 7.5–10cm long, 1.6–2.2cm wide, narrowly elliptic, shallowly toothed and glandular from base to apex. Calyx-lobes triangular. Flowers to 2.2cm long. Perhaps the hardiest species, grown outside in Cornwall. Min. -5°C. |
