Abelia x grandiflora (Andre) Rehder A hybrid between A. chinensis and A. uniflora (from E. China), raised by Rovelli in Italy before 1880. Semi-evergreen shrub to 2.5 m. Branches pubescent. Sepals 2-5; corolla 2 cm long. Any soil. Hardy to -15°C. Summer-autumn. There is also a prostrate form, used for ground cover in N. America.
