Crotalaria capensis Jacq. A spreading shrub with hanging branches, and spikes of large yellow flowers, native of South Africa, from Knysna to the E Cape and N. Natal, flowering in August-December (spring-summer). Stems to 3m; leaflets 3, elliptic to obovate, 1.5-7cm long. Racemes 10-15cm long; flowers c. 5cm, yellow with a red blotch on the standard. For any good, well-drained soil. Min. -5°C. |
