Acer griseum (Franch.) Pax Paper-bark Maple Native to China, often cultivated in gardens for its ornamental bark. Grows to l4m (45ft). Flowers open in May in bunches of three or five. Fruits are unusually large, having wings 3.7 cm (1½in) downcurved and almost parallel. Leaves have 3 leaflets, and turn bright clear red and orange in autumn. Bark is orange, peeling in papery strips. Z5.
