Clerodendrum paniculatum L. Pagoda Flower A small evergreen shrub with spectacular conical panicles of small scarlet or reddish-orange flowers, native of SE Asia, growing in woodland margins and clearings, flowering in summer–autumn. Erect shrub to 1.2m tall. Leaves ovate, 15–25cm long, mostly 3- to 5-lobed, the upper ones often simple. The flowers are pale or deep scarlet, 10mm across the lobes, with slender tubes to 15mm long, and exserted stamens borne in tiers forming a broad panicle to 30cm long. Min. 10°C. |
