Catalpa ovata G. Don Yellow Catalpa Native to China, cultivated in botanical collections. Height to 6-9m (20-30ft). Flowers are distinctively coloured. They open in July and August in bunches 10-25cm (4-10in) high, each flower about 2.5cm (1in) across. Fruit is a pod about 30cm (12in). Leaves are darker green and more definitely 3-lobed than the American Catalpa species.
