Daphne laureola L. Spurge Laurel Native of C. and S. England where it grows in woods and hedges on chalk and limestone, and of Europe from the Azores, France and Spain eastwards to Greece and Turkey, and in North Africa, up to 2000 m, flowering in February and March, and to June in the mountains. An evergreen shrub up to 1.5m high. Flowers scented towards evening. Hardy to -20°C and shade tolerant. |
